7 Online Purchases I’ve Made Whilst Self Isolating

Clothes have become less interesting, we’ll sort of, I’m still browsing and there’s some pieces catching my eye lately, but although I’d love to click, ‘add to basket’ I’m refraining. I had bought some new clothes I had planned to take and wear on my trip but I’m not even getting to wear them here in Melbourne due to the current pandemic and restrictions imposed by the government. We are adhering to level 3 restrictions so can only leave our home for essentials.

Work or study, medical care and supplies, food, and exercise

Connection and interaction with others is mostly via social media platforms. As a result we are seeing our faces a lot more. These above factors may have influenced my purchases. I’ve been wearing a little make up to brighten my face and earrings as they make me feel cheerier when I see my reflection in a mirror or screen image. So I guess my interest has turned to things that brighten my face and head area.

1. EYE LASH SERUM

Ey Envy Lash and Brow Serum. I was in need of something to stimulate my lash growth now I am unable to get lash extensions during the pandemic restrictions. This was recommended to me. I purchased from my hairdresser for $120AU

2. MASCARA

With no longer being able to get my Russian Volume Lashes filled I have now removed them and was in need of a good mascara! I do like this one and happy with my purchase. It has added thickness to my lashes whilst I also wait for them to grow in length.

3. EARRINGS

I saw these on media personality Mia Freedman and emailed her asking where she got her earrings in which she kindly replied. I thought they looked fun and cheery. I love them. They put a smile on my face when I see my reflection in the mirror.

4. LIP STAIN

I heard about this product a long time ago but never followed up on it. I wear the RATIONALE cheek serum that can also be used as a lip stain. I very much like the colour on my lips but it doesn’t last long. Recently I watched Amy Clark from Mamamia on the benefit Instagram page use this. I have been enjoying Amy’s make up videos lately during my COVID19 isolation, and after seeing her video decided to follow up and try it.

5. BRONZER

I purchased the Benefit Hoola bronzer sometime ago and thought I would buy a fresh one duty free as I caught my flight to Europe but as we know with a pandemic happening international holidays are currently a thing of the past. After watching more make up tutorials than ever before in my life I decided it’s time to get my new bronzer. I’ve been very happy with this Bronzer. It gives a nice colouring on my face.

6. EYEBROWS

After watching Ruth Crilly’s Instagram modelrecommends as she put on makeup that I thought looked amazing I purchased the Benefit Gimme Brow plus in shade 2. Thought I’d try it. I’m happy with my MAC brow pencil in Strawberry Blonde but I’m curious to see what a brow gel is like. Why not I say in COVID life. 💁🏻‍♀️.

7. CURL DEFINER Due to COVID19 my hair salon has closed and I cannot get my weekly blow wave so I am wearing my hair natural and trying to calm the frizz and define the curl with this product. My hair doesn’t feel like I have product in it which is good with this cream. It was recommended by my hairdresser and is helping, I think 🤔 . Perhaps it’s going to take a week or two for my hair to spring back to its natural curl after constantly being straightened. Watch this space I say.
